Ancient:
Long ago when the world was still young and innocent, the Sun and the Moon were created by the gods to give light and life to their newly birthed and barren world. Once their presence showered the world with its nourishment, lush wild forest with rivers, lakes, hills, and fields spread throughout creating a beautiful green land. Even though it was filled with plants and wildlife, the Gods still felt as though there was something missing. One day two young trees had grown tired of being in the same spot day in and out. They wanted to explore this vast new world before them. So after centuries of patience and determination, stretched their branches towards the heavens.
One tree prayed to the Sun for a chance to run under its warmth, while the other prayed to the Moon for a chance to dance in its chill. Both prayers were heard and thus granted by the heavens, causing the two trees forms to shrink, slim, and shift in to lithe and graceful creatures. The two newly transformed creatures shouted great joy to the sky in thanks for their prayers being answered. Together their enjoyed the warmth light the Sun provided and rested under the Moon’s chill. They called themselves Elves, after the Elviran trees they have once been. After some time, they begun gathering feelings and sensations they had never felt before. The pair became intimately closer and after the birth of their first child, a daughter named Ellestrea, they started the extended and continued thrive of their race.
Past:
Around the dawn of the Yenëarsyra (Winter Solstice), the elves were wild forest creatures with no structure and at war amongst their own kind. Two of the strongest families, the Xoaths and the Annüli, vied to control the entire land. While they where busy bickering amongst each other, Galevein Hurth De Lac seized the opportunity by gathering forces of his own. By the time the two houses realized what was going on it was too late. The De Lac’s had grown so much in power and popularity, that near could oppose them without fear of excommunication. Commanding obedience and order, first ruler Galevein molded the Elven nation in to a supreme and powerful monarch.
There was a time centuries later with Telon Lacres De Lac ascended the throne bringing with him a reign of holy terror. He was a cruel and merciless King, wanting knowing more then the destruction of all who opposed him. These were known as the Shidya years, when war was prominent and bloodshed a must. As the body count rose under his reign, his younger brother Prince Gromph Ilphrin gathered and rose an army against him. Gromph ended up slaying his own brother on the end of his blade during a heated sword fight within the palace’s throne room, that was later recorded as a marvelous spectacle to witness. Gromph ascended the throne and proved to be a better ruler then his vicious older brother. Under King Gromph’s reign the land thrived and was very prosperous. Many citizens believed Gromph was a living God, himself.
Present:
King Gromph strived to open his citizen’s closed minds to the possibilities of open communication with the other races (Vampire, Humans, and Werewolves) that had sprung up around them. But it was a battle that he wouldn’t be allowed to fight during the remainder of his life time. After a visit with one of the Human officials in the Midlands, King Gromph came down with a terrible illness that began sapping his life from him. Knowing he was soon going to depart with this world he loved so much, he tried to instill good values and morals amongst this young children, twins Araevin and Azaala. The illness quickly took a hold of his strength, much to the constant care of the lands best Healers. He only managed to lift his head one more to allow his pillows to be fixed before his soul ascended to the heavens during his nap. Wracked with grief for the loss of her love, Queen Halisstra Rauva tried to continue ruling in her husband’s absence. It was only a few months after his death did she to pass on from a broken heart.
The young twins Araevin and Azaala were only at age 12, when debate about who should assume the throne until Araevin, the oldest of the twins, was able to assume leadership. During one of the more “heated” discussions of who should stand in, young Araevin stood in front of the council and asked he be allowed to speak. Though young for his age, he commanded an air of superiority and wisdom, that most three times his age fail to achieve. His words were calm and stern leaving no room for question or opposition. Age wasn’t a factor, as he lead them to an agreement that he would ascend the throne now, under the supervision of an adviser of his choice. Once he turned 18, they would hold his coronation and he would fully rule the Kingdom on his own accord.
Now it is almost the eve of the young majesty’s coronation and everyone throughout the land has gathered to witness his crowning. Majority of the citizens believe him to be an exact mold of his father and therefore expect great things from him, while others, secretly, wait for him to mess up. Considering his age, they feel they won’t have long to wait. And once he does, they plan on rising from the shadows and taking what they believe is theirs…..
