Evelyn Daine
WEREWOLF, SISTER OF THE DAINE PACK LEADER
"I love the way that your heart breaks
With every injustice and deadly fate.
Praying it all will be new
And living like it all depends on you.
Here you are down on your knees again
Trying to find air to breathe again.
Only surrender will help you now
I love you please see and believe again."

the description
description of appearance: Her willowy body, with long legs and graceful arms, makes Evelyn a physically adept and beautiful human being and an agile wolf. She moves through the forest like a breeze and her long body’s almost acrobatic abilities makes her a silent and deadly hunter. As a human her hair is long and dark. It falls passed her shoulders towards the middle of her back in thick brunette curls the color of the earth or the smooth rocks from the depths of a river. She wears her hair loose and wild usually but on occasions when she will be in her human form for extended lengths of time she likes to wear her hair in a long braid. With pale skin that can easily be bruised Evelyn is often marked by the battles she‘s been made to fight for her pack and against prey. After baring many pains of both the body and the heart she can withstand the dull ache of her wounds without a flinch or complaint. Her scars from these wounds are often soft and invisible to the eye until they are touched by another and then the raised markings from claws and fangs can be felt beneath the tender touch of gentle fingertips. Her emotions flicker like dark flames in her blue eyes. Her soft rose pink lips hold a beautiful smile, even if it takes a little effort for someone to bring it to the surface. Her teeth are white and bright, like the glint of her fangs under the full moon‘s light before they are stained by the blood of the fallen. In her wolf form she is slightly smaller than the largest wolf of her pack, her own brother, but she carries herself with a confidence that mirrors the strength of her brother’s pack and herself. Her fur, as a wolf, is a soft silky pelt the color of marbled gray storm clouds with a dusting of black over her shoulders and down the length of her back.[/ul]

history so far: Born as a wolf, Evelyn was raised for the first formative years of her life as a beautiful gray and black pup wrestling with her brother, sister and cousins, blithely carefree and happy. Then, after a deep emotional dip into her desperate longings, she began to transform into a human when she wanted to climb into parts of the forest she couldn‘t reach as a wolf, the trees. Her mother Julianna had died in a fight with a bear to defend her cubs when Evelyn was five and still unable to join her mother and help in the fight. The loss of her mother at such a young age made Evelyn feel loneliness for the first time and it seemed to her that if she made it into the trees she could find the place where her mother’s spirit went, heaven. A whole new world was opened up to her when she found the part of herself that was human. Now she walked beneath the canopy of the trees on four paws and then, in a flash of white, she would be in her human form climbing the ash and oak trees with feet and hands that pulled her higher and higher into the dense leaves towards the sky. The years went by and Evelyn learned that her mother’s heaven was unreachable for now, no matter how high she went into the trees. Her father, Gregor, had filled the space her mother left vacant. When she sat in her father‘s lap and played with his thick black beard as he laughed or ran with him when the pack went on the hunt, Evelyn finally began to understand that her mother had left her in the hands of a wonderful man who was the perfect father. Julianna Daine, her youngest daughter named in memory of her, was still watching over the pack and the Daine family honored their blessings when the moon shone bright and Julianna’s children could howl at the stars in her honor.
The Daine Clan is a pack that is proud of their lineage. They still honor their allegiance and duty towards the werewolf princes of the Radulf pack, descendants of the great Hrodvitnir. Gregor Daine never let the clan forget that they owed their existence to the Radulf clan from the very beginning. There is a story that is told at least once to all the members of the Daine clan when they are young. It says that there was once a rebellious black pup born into the Radulf clan. This pup grew into the elegant wolf that was the great great grandfather of Gregor and his children. This wolf, given the name Daine, chose to live alone on the mountain in the form that felt the most natural to him, the wolf. Daine despised the ease the Radulf's maintained with being in their human forms, when it was the wolf in whose image they were all made. But while Daine hated the suppression of his desires to be free and wild by the Radulf pack leaders he could not deny his family honor. One day the Radulf pack leader of the time was hunting in the forest in his wolf form. A great beast was stalking him unnoticed from above. The deadly hunter was preparing to pounce for the kill when Daine Radulf transformed into his human form for the first time and was able to pull the Radulf leader to safety before a big cat with claws like knives and fur as golden as the sun leapt through the air. Daine was terribly injured by the Radulf pack leader who had bitten and scratched his nephew in fear before he realized what had happened. The cougar had missed its prey and was soon chased down and killed by the newly reunited Daine and Radulf leader. In gratitude for their leader's rescue, the Radulf pack granted the lone Daine permission to begin his own pack and so the Daine pack was born from an act of bravery and loyalty in the face of danger.
The Daines have always been most at home in their wolf forms, as their forefather had been, but over the years they have drifted back into the company of the Radulfs, who are their kin by blood, and more accustomed to being human as well as wolf. Now the Daines live near the caves of the Radulfs and Evelyn would often be alongside her father when she was of age and they were summoned to a council gathering. It was in the council room and in the forests racing at the Radulf prince’s side that she watched the beautiful form of Draven Radulf. She was enchanted by his beauty and power. His form as a man and as a wolf filled Evelyn with love and desire, but the impetuous young prince could not see what was before his eyes. Evelyn pined for the werewolf prince who accepted the love of everyone but her. She would often confide her feelings and dreams of love to her sister Julianna when she was left behind on hunts to watch over her, but her young sister could never understand and Evelyn soon went silent and kept the words of her passion locked away inside her heart. Her sister and brother loved her implicitly and their support was enough to stem the overwhelming tide of her grief when she heard of Draven’s betrothal to another. Nathan would tell Evelyn, in fits of pained rage, that her hold on this foolish infatuation she had carried since her youth was worthless and that she shouldn’t torture herself. While Julianna silently held her sister close as Evelyn cried both as a woman and as a forlorn beast with a broken heart. Evelyn tried to be happy for Draven and his new bride. To comfort her aching soul she listened to her father’s words that told her over and over again that her love for Draven was not and could never be true and that it would only hurt her in the end. Slowly, Evelyn began to heal and started to try and find her hope again…
Word reached them of the massacre and death of Draven’s bride and her family members. The Daines were by the Radulfs side when the fighting broke out and Evelyn pledged herself whole heartedly to the Radulf cause and their retribution. She fought at the side of the Radulfs against the Gerwulf murderers with ferocity and unhinged rage. The pain caused to Draven‘s clan hurt her as well and she took pleasure in reaping vengeance on the murderers of her first love‘s chance at happiness. In the fighting Gregor Daine was injured and nearly died from loss of blood. After many days of stillness and a deep sleep Gregor awoke to his children crowded above him and a human witch leaning over him inspecting his wounds which were almost healed. The near death experience of her father put life in perspective once again for Evelyn. She came down to earth from her safe haven in the sky drifting with the dreams of her mother and the clouds. Gregor‘s injuries kept him from leading the Daine pack and his son Nathan was soon given the title his father had carried with honor for many years. Evelyn took to the task of helping her father as he healed until he managed to begin walking again with only a slight limp from a stiffness in the joint of one of his hind legs. Gregor was happy to be free and alive again. Grateful to his son and daughters, Gregor happily took to caring for the young ones and being the wise grandfather for the pack. Evelyn‘s wild heart has calmed and she takes pleasure in the simpler things in life, although she still does slip away unnoticed in the night to roam under the stars and to climb into the top of a tree and watch the sunrise while dreaming of what could have been and what might still be waiting for her in the years to come.[/ul]
