the description
description of appearance: Lelia's skin is a creamy pale white, the delicate and haunting color of the undead flesh of her former humanity. The rosy color her human form once possessed within its cheeks is long gone. While vampires are often free of the scars and bruises of their former life, Lelia’s face is marked with needle thin lines that run across her cheeks, forehead and chin, like the places a doll would have been sewn together. Before she was reborn again as one of the vampire her sire had marked her. Her beauty was so great as a human, he said, that he wanted to make her unique and set apart from all the others of her kind he had created in the past. Along with her new sharp and porcelain white fangs, the style of makeup she has come to wear both at rest and on special occasions recreates the colors of the springtime rose or even the golden hue of the autumn winds or the blue whisper of winter ice. Deep and rich colors favor her pale skin and personality. The ethereal style she wears leaves the viewer transfixed the longer they stare. In the darkness all you can hear are the silks brushing over her skin and a soft jingle, like the song of a wind chime, as she creeps closer to you in the dark. Her elegant beauty, from the youth of her human life, has been transformed into a haunting maturity. Lelia’s eyes glow a deep gold with circular pupils, the eyes of a being from another world that had seen death and the underworld. Her pale blonde hair is long and smooth, it hangs like gaunt silk passed her shoulders. She is built long and lean and of average height, but perhaps she looks a little smaller than she is in reality when she is in the presence of someone taller or broader than herself. While her frame denotes her as a delicate woman that needs the care and protection of others, when her eyes glow bright and she moves in the night with the swiftness of a fae her delicate features, marked by cruelty and hardened by necessity, tell of her warrior’s strength and physical tenacity.[/ul]

history so far: As a human and in her golden youth Lelia was a bright and happy child, she was active and often ran with the boys through the hills since they were the only ones that could keep up with her in the games she wanted to play. While she was a bright light in the lives of others, she was still young and innocent and therefore not a very talkative child. She would often times be silent when she was in the presence of her elders or shy about a topic of conversation. She grew into a moody teenager that learned to spend time on her own in the forest fighting imaginary demons, always dreaming of a new and better world beyond her village that was waiting for her to explore it. Without any brothers or sisters of her own she surrendered herself to at fascination with the occult tales of the mythical beasts that were beginning to appear around the villages, stalking the shadows and avoiding the daylight. Then at last she became a budding rose of womanhood. She was ready to look out onto the world and find her first love and to become a part of a new family. Not matter how hard she tried Lelia was still unable to find that other world from inside her youthful dreams that felt like her real home. In the end she was forced to become resigned to her fate and the life that she was expected to lead in the village as a worker, wife and mother. With her dreams of fantasy fading away her heart grew empty while hanging in suspension awaiting a new sunrise.
However the sunrise she dreamed of was to be a sunset. On a cold winter’s evening while walking a path through the forests She was suddenly cut down and her life was stolen by a vampire. When she died Lelia felt herself changing and some things about herself were lost while others were heightened. Everything about her had slowed down. The happy ease with which she once lived her past life was gone, replaced with a coldness that was echoed in the icy temperature of her dead skin. Her sire, the venerable Abeiron Selene, treasured her and had marked her as his own. She was the identical image of his long lost daughter. Over the course of her first few frightened years as a new vampire Lelia finally learned the truth behind her sire’s strange love for her and she put herself into that empty place in his cold dead heart willingly, excited by the love of a true father and a new family. The connection she felt with all her brothers and sisters was strong, especially with the handsome and strong Castiel who had been marked as she had been by their sire. Abeiron and his many wives felt like her true parents. The life she knew before was gone and she moved on into the new one with delight. Her body was a new world to explore and her mind was never full or satisfied no matter how many new things she learnt about her abilities and the life of the vampire. As the years past she became an elegant and beautiful creature that fed off the blood of humans and beasts. Her human life had been forgotten along with what if felt like to run under the sun. However some things about her human persona remained. The nervous silence from her former life transformed into a heady silence that surrounded her and made everything she ever did or say all the more potent. Her heart was empty and now cold with death, the blood that still pumped through it made it warm and happy now and again but as those feelings passed away, as did all things, Lelia was left with an emptiness that could never be filled…In a way Lelia is still looking for the missing piece of her heart that she never found as a human but perhaps could find as a vampire.
The political standing of her father forced her family into the spotlight and she followed them where ever they chose to go and no matter how high they strived to reach. She always saw her father as a deadly man but a man that cared for her and the family she was a part of. She respected him and his wishes even when they turned into wicked thoughts on the throne of Drausia. The bloody reformation of the government found Lelia at the front lines, fighting for her life with her face spattered with the blood of her brethren. She was there when her father took the crown and put it on his head, but from that moment on she withdrew from the bright burning light of hate that had been cast on her family. She was covered in the blood of the fallen and was a thing to be hated but she silently wanted to change back into the ethereal lady she once was and perhaps make up for the wrongs she had done to the vampires of Drausia. Under her father’s oppressive reign she would creep into the libraries before dawn and just after sunset to read the great manuscripts of the olden days and learn about the rights and requirements of royalty. She also learned the real stories of how the Voncour family had ruled Drausia and felt shame and guilt over their extermination at the hands of her father. As the years went by Lelia watched her siblings grow accustomed to their stolen power and learn to treat others as her father did. She also found herself reviled for the evils her family was doing to the country and she bore the hatred of the people she loved with her stoic silence. Her family loyalty left her open to their demands of her, but through all she still believed them to be good and simply corrupted be their new standing in the world. She tried her best to maintain her connections with each, especially her brother and sisters while her father doted on her whether she desired his love or not.
The decades went on and she kept hold of her hope for better things as she had done as a human. Then the unthinkable came to pass. Abeiron decided to meet the sun one spring morning, his time on this earth long spent suffering through the losses of so many and his age weighing down on his heart like the stones he had worn smooth beneath his feet over the centuries. He‘d lived longer than all her living family members put together and it was a great loss for all Vampire kind to see him and all his power fade. To the surprise of all it was Lelia who Abeiron named as his heir, passing over her elder brother Castiel. Vera, the tyrannical king’s devoted widow, celebrated the decision of her husband while Lucina and Vesper grew silent and stoic but followed their father's wishes. It took Castiel a quarter of a century of convincing before he conceded outwardly to his defeat while inwardly he became even colder and filled with hate and confusion. As the new Queen of Drausia Lelia had no choice but to obey her father‘s last wish and take command, but her family was feared and hated by the vampires of Drausia and if Lelia had been a weaker person she might have abdicated for fear of the people‘s retribution. Lelia was crowned in a solemn ceremony and her speech on the balcony to the gathered vampire civilians was one of transition and change, but still held what the people thought of as wicked arrogance and defense of the horrid choices her family made. Lelia’s defense of her father who came before her, coupled with an explanation that there is no other royal line left since the Voncour family was lost to Drausia, was meant as a sign of strength and hope that Drausia would come to understand that the Selene's meant the established order and peace no harm. While she is the image of a dark and beautiful queen on a throne of silver Lelia is still a frightened woman praying that she can maintain control while her court ripples with whispers and doubt. To her dismay Castiel is learning to hate his love for a sister who took away the position he most coveted, even though he knows she did not desire the burden. Lelia holds the throne of Drausia with a firm hand, as she was taught by her father, while secretly keeping a hope for a new and better Drausia in her heart...[/ul]
