The kingdoms of Magnum Terra all had their borders once, which were protected by an ancient magic. The Midlands belonged to the human races of the west. Every village was a different world. The people within each village are a gathering of many peoples that chose to make a home after traveling from far and wide to find their home in one of the many villages or towns open to them. When the magical borders began to fade, new creatures arrived to live and interact with the human race. The beasts and beings becoming known to the human world were changing each little village nearest to one of the three new worlds into territories dominated by the presence of a magical race that is either terrorizing or enchanting the humans living beside them. The vampires and werewolves began to hunt human kind and the unconscious fear of these two races has become legendary. Old wives tales about these mysterious and deadly beings now frighten every human who comes to hear about them. The wolves who haunt the moonlight to feast on the flesh of the innocent and the pale undead human shaped beings who stalk you in total silence from the shadows and then feast on your blood in the blink of an eye. There are also legends amongst humanity of the peaceful race of elves who have become revered by the humans of Magnum Terra. Their grace and elegance enchants the stories told by those who have been lucky enough to meet one, but their reclusive nature makes them an even greater mystery to human kind beyond the realm of fiction and legend. All that is truly known about the elves is about their secretive worship of nature and ethereal beauty.
While fear is the strongest emotion set against the vampires and werewolves, elves, witches and warlocks. Some humans have developed a desire to interact with them. There are those wild individuals who run into the forests of Mount Fenrir in search of the werewolf clans, hoping to join them in the life of a moon wolf or even risk death in the attempt of reaching their goal. Then there are the humans who willingly approach the vampire and offer up their life’s blood in exchange for a chance to be loved by one of these pale monsters of the night. Those that follow the elves are some of the more peaceful members of these groups of human followers who seek out danger in order to conquer their own fears. These humans who have formed an affinity for the creatures from their nightmares are often the ones who live on the outskirts of any village or town, finding themselves shunned by those humans who consider themselves normal. One of the biggest issues the humans face, living in these villages near the three magical kingdoms, is that they must decide which creature is safest to have as their neighbor.
The outer lands are still steeped in superstition and fear of the dark, but towards the center of Magnum Terra the peoples and creatures of Magnum Terra have learned to mingle together peacefully and have formed places of learning and trade full of life and activity, all watched over by wise human rulers. The Wall Marketplace is at the exact center of our world and is the epicenter of all life in Magnum Terra. The multilayered city is packed tight with life. It bustles with activity throughout the day and even through the night, an endless traffic of humanity and the supernatural beings interacting in trade with one another. The white towers of K’eth Burgh rise up from the west, a governed and rich state that is inhabited strictly by humans and it allows witches and warlocks to live amongst them without persecution. K’eth Burgh is becoming one of the centers for learning and higher knowledge in Magnum Terra after the mysterious kingdom of the Elves. Protected and cared for by humans it could be considered the rising capitol of the human realm, a symbol of human evolution and strength. What will become of K’eth Burgh’s growing power has yet to be seen or fortold by a prophet. Meanwhile, in a hidden valley beyond the Wall Market and hidden from K’eth Burgh’s regal shadow, the evils of humanity have gathered. In the Valley of Knaves all the thieves, vagabonds and marauders of Magnum Terra live and prosper, waiting for their chance to rise up and seize power for themselves. While humanity was, at first, a terrified race of cattle for the supernatural beings to manipulate and control the humans have started to evolve. The new generations are learning from their mistakes and are in desperate pursuit for a form of peace and harmony, even as their sinful natures are reaching up from behind to take hold of them once again when their guards are down…
